Smarten Up! is the name of the fanzine Jean Smith's early 80s zine turned record label when it came time to release Mecca Normal's first LP.

Get to the Point is the small press David Lester started in 1993 to publish Jean Smith's first novel. The label and the press are still active, disseminating fiction, award-winning poetry, graphics and music projects by community activists.
